Memorial Hermann The Woodlands to be official healthcare provider for Legacy Prep

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy recently partnered with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands to provide sports medicine to the school. Memorial Hermann will be the official healthcare provider for Legacy Prep.

“Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital is pleased to include Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy among the school sports medicine partnerships we have in the community,” said Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Senior VP and CEO Josh Urban. "Memorial Hermann will provide athletic trainer coverage for all home games, and we also recently performed pre-participation physicals and concussion testing at Legacy Prep."

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th with over 400 students. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Sports offered at Legacy Prep include football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, cheerleading, track and field, swimming, diving, golf, tennis, and baseball on both the junior high and varsity levels. Dr. David Abbasi is the Memorial Hermann team physician for Legacy Prep. Larry Harvey is the athletic director and head varsity football coach.

“I am really excited to be in partnership with Memorial Hermann and the support they provide for our athletic department,” stated Legacy Prep Athletic Director Larry Harvey. “The team of athletic trainers and sports medicine doctors have provided physicals and concussion screening. Memorial Hermann is also providing injury prevention guidance and evaluation for our athletes which gives us a great deal of comfort and assistance with our teams. We look forward to the future and other services Memorial Hermann will be providing for our program.”
