THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The allure of the music industry has been like a siren song to millions of aspiring artists over the generations. While the thought of making it “in the biz” has been a pipe dream to some, one man knows that there are real-world job opportunities all throughout the industry. “Everyone dreams of being in the music business,” said Mathew Knowles. “I can help bring these dreams to reality.”

Creator of Destiny’s Child and other superstars to present all you need to know to break into the entertainment industry

Mathew Knowles – father of Beyoncé Knowles and instrumental in her career – has served as executive producer for more than 100 award-winning albums in multiple genres. He developed R&B sensation Destiny’s Child into a global phenomenon, and he is also a visiting professor for the Entertainment and the Recording Industry Management degree program at Texas Southern University’s School of Communications. On October 24, Knowles is presenting what he describes as a one-day entertainment boot camp he calls “The Music Industry: How Do I Get In?” taking place at downtown Houston’s Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

At this intensive, intimate and informative event, Knowles will use his 25 years of experience to help attendees understand the opportunities in all aspects of the entertainment industry, from singers to stylists, from producers to promoters, from musicians to makeup artists. “For those who have asked me how they can break into the industry, I tell them they have to understand the importance of networking, employing the traits of successful artists and personnel.”

Boot camp attendees will learn how to build a foundation from the ground up in their chosen sub-field, and ensure their choices align with their passions and talents. Besides a comprehensive presentation by Knowles himself, he will also host a panel discussion with multiple experts in different areas of the industry – a vocal coach, an entertainment attorney, a talent agent, an international recording artist and more – as they share insider information. VIP ticket holders can enjoy a lunch with Knowles, and also personally present him with a resume, demo CD, or other collateral.

The boot camp will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Zilkha Hall in The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, located at 800 Bagby in downtown Houston. There is tier pricing for Early Bird, General Admission, Student and VIP tickets. Attendees can register online at www.GetInMusicBiz2015.EventBrite.com.
