Learn water-wise tips & trends at Township’s Landscape Solutions event

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Water-wise gardening tips, vegetable gardening, rainwater harvesting and creating a monarch waystation are some of the discoveries to be found at Woodlands Landscape Solutions, Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 9 a.m. to noon at 8203 Millennium Forest Drive.

Gardening personalities and authors, Brenda Buest-Smith, “the Lazy Gardener,” and Mark Bowen will share ideas for reviving stressed landscapes. Receive Design Tips on the Spot by bringing a landscape photo or a sketch for advice. Learn how to add edibles to the landscape with Ben van der Poll, the vegetable gardening guru. Troubleshoot lawn problems with Bob Dailey.

Chris Wiesinger, “the Bulb Hunter,” will return with heirloom bulbs for hot landscapes. Attendees may also purchase herbs, fall vegetable seedlings, olive trees and pollinator plants from Veggie Village and The Herb Cottage.

At the Master Gardener Plant Clinic, “the doctor is in.” Bring your sickly or pest damaged plant in a plastic baggie to get a free diagnosis and a prescription for treatment. Explore the latest trends in water saving devices from the Blossom digital controller to drip irrigation. Other featured activities will include garden tool care, vermiculture, plant propagation, pass-along plants, Green Garden Shop, and fast track to composting.

The free outdoor event is organized by The Woodlands Township, with sponsorship by Montgomery County Master Gardeners Association, The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N., The Woodlands Development Company, Nature’s Way Resources, Hilton Garden Inn, Waste Management, H-E-B and Woodlands Joint Powers Agency.
