THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Legacy’s varsity football team traveled to Bryan this past Friday. With a final score of 49-14, the Lions took a loss against Brazos Christian.

The game was looking towards the worst at halftime, where Brazos had the lead, 37-0. During the last two quarters, however, senior Travis May scored two touchdowns and ran in the ball for two extra points. May also had a good running game, with eight rushes for a total of 121 yards per carry. May averaged 15.1 yards per carry.

“They are passionate when they play,” says senior manager Brooklyn Fredricks. “But unlike many other teams, in that passion is left a sense of decency and politeness—a sense that I believe their coaches have helped to instill in them.”

Quarterback Jared May had 103 yards over 23 attempts. Despite two interceptions, the offensive line played well and ensured that there were no sacks.

Punter Armani Esquibel averaged 32.8 yards a punt in the game. He also had seven tackles from the defensive line. Brady Harvey, senior, and Zack Patton, junior, both had five tackles. May lead the team with eight total tackles.

“Its inspired me throughout the season, to watch them continue to give, when I can see in their faces that they have next to nothing left,” says Fredricks.

The team is looking forward to making leaps and bounds this year, and fans are excited to see all their hard work start paying off. Despite this loss, Legacy Prep is getting ready for next week’s game, which is October 9th, against Legacy Christian.
