MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - News of an unintended pregnancy can be overwhelming for women and their families. PACN (Pregnancy Assistance Center North) is a non-profit pregnancy medical clinic that offers unbiased, client-centered care to women and men.

PACN works under a licensed, local OB GYN who serves as a medical director for the non-profit organization, as well as a nurse manager. The majority of clients (about 60%) are between the ages of 15 - 24, and most are referred by family or friends (about 70%). On an annual basis, PACN receives over 6,400 client visits from women and men who are experiencing an unintended pregnancy or sexual health issue.

They offer a range of confidential services at no cost including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD / HIV testing and education for men and women, well-women exams (ages 21+), prenatal education, community referrals for individual needs, support groups, special programs, and educational opportunities in order to empower and educate the community. However, they do not refer or offer abortion services.

PACN is a place of comfort and hope. Debbie Lambert, RN, RDMS PACN nurse manager stated, “It’s not enough to just confirm a pregnancy and send clients on their way. We offer medically accurate information, a listening ear, counseling, education, material assistance and community referrals which empower women and men to make the best choices for their health.”

In fact, PACN will be launching their new client smartphone app at the first of the year, which will provide useful tools for women and men concerning sexual health and pregnancy.

How can you help? The Pregnancy Assistance Center North is funded by individuals, organizations and businesses, and does not accept any government assistance.

There are several ways to get involved through volunteer opportunities, and donations are always accepted.
