John Cooper soccer, basketball, swimming results
The John Cooper school soccer, basketball and swimming teams saw much success last week, including junior swimmer, Grace Ritch, who was awarded second and third place in the finals.
Varsity BOYS’ SOCCER:
Nov. 16 at HCYA: Cooper 3 • HCYA 1
Comments from Coach Bryan Sherman: “It was a good first win of the season for the varsity boys soccer team. Three first half goals put us in a commanding position and we were able to finish the game off comfortably in the second half. I am very proud of the team and hope we can continue improve over the coming weeks.”

Comments from Coach Amber Clevenger: “This was a great game for the team. We struggled at first, but then we really got into a groove. Isabel Sands has been our go to person she has been making the major plays. The goals were scored by Mary Dunlap, Kate Burns and followed up by two goals from Isabel. It was a great to go into break with a win and a game where everyone was able to contribute.”

Varsity SWIMMING:
Grace Ritch, a junior at The John Cooper School, placed second in the finals of 100 Fly and third in the finals of the 200 Free at the TISCA (Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) Gulf Coast Zone Meet on November 21 at the CISD Natatorium. Grace Ritch places 2nd in the 100 Fly; 3rd in the 200 Free
Nov. 20-21 at TISCA (Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) Gulf Coast Meet: Highlights from Coach Steve Breeding: Grace Ritch qualified for the finals and placed 3rd in the 200 Free (1:54.26) and 2nd in the 100 Fly (57.92) Both times were personal bests as a John Cooper swimmer. She missed the school record in the 100 Fly by .41 seconds. Ignacio Ranieri swam a personal best in both the 50 and 100 Free.
