THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Anyone who has ever needed emergency services knows why the first to respond are called local heroes. Their heroic acts are performed over and over again, on a daily basis, thus the reason the Goose’s Acre Irish Pub isn’t just acknowledging First Responders once a year, or even just occasionally. On the second Tuesday of this month, December 8, and every second Tuesday of every month, the Goose’s Acre is inviting firefighters, EMS, Sheriff deputies, police officers, mounted patrol, and of course, military veterans, for a complimentary snack buffet from 7 to 10:00 p.m.

Likewise, military veterans performed heroically every day of their service, and deserved to be honored more frequently than once a year. They too, are cordially invited to this monthly affair in appreciation of their service.

“I’m a veteran, and I have a family who are all veterans,” said owner, Brian Young. “We did this on Veteran’s Day, and decided to continue the buffet on a monthly basis, to show our First Responders and military veterans how much we truly appreciate their service.”

The buffet includes The Goose’s favorite appetizers and hot hors d’oeuvres. First Responders are sure to see familiar faces they’ve made calls with, throughout the community. It’s a great opportunity for veterans to share their military exploits with, and The Goose is hoping that members of the American Legion and VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) will make this a regular monthly event.

Tag a First Responder or a veteran with this article, who deserves to be thanked. This will be an especially fine month to get together and exchange holiday greetings of good cheer. The Goose’s Acre is located at 21 Waterway Avenue, #140, in The Woodlands (77380).
