THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Rotary Club of The Woodlands and its Rotary Wine Dinner Team are excited to announce that its 10th Annual Wine Dinner will be Saturday, March 5, 2016, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

The 2016 Wine Dinner will honor Bruce Tough, The Woodlands Township’s Chairman of the Board. The “Texas Tough” event will toast this long-time community leader—and celebrate the 180th birthday of Texas’ Independence.

In 2008, Bruce was elected to the position of Director on the Board of the newly-formed governmental entity, The Woodlands Township. He has been its Chairman of the Board since 2010.

Bruce was elected Secretary/Treasurer for the Center for Houston’s Future in 2015. He was a Director on the Board of The Woodlands Community Association (forerunner of The Woodlands Township) and was its President for four years. He was also President of The Woodlands Fire Department and a Conroe ISD Trustee.

Our Congressman Kevin Brady has agreed to be the M.C. for the Texas-themed evening. He is noted for his sincerity…and his humor. Several hand-picked speakers—including Bruce’s four daughters—will add spice to the evening.

The 2016 Wine Dinner Chair is Rotarian Patricia Ward, Vice President of Green Bank. She said, “This is a community event and it is open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend and pay tribute to Bruce Tough for his many years of service to The Woodlands. Quality wines will complement each course of the delectable dinner, which will be fashioned by The Marriott’s creative chefs.”

Rotarian Jim Eason, Jim Eason Realtors, is the 2016 Wine Dinner Co-Chair. Jim, who has served on this committee for several years, added,“Join us in celebrating at this fun evening for wine and food fanatics--it is always a phenomenal success. You will enjoy fantastic food and wine!”

Table sponsorships begin at $1,500. Individual tickets are $150. For more information about this big event, contact Patricia at pward@greenbank.com.

This community happening is a fundraiser for the 501(c)(3) non-profit Rotary Foundation that supports The Rotary Club of The Woodlands’ charitable projects. These include scholarships for local high school students, community service projects, food bank projects, plus donations, support, and service for other worthy local causes.
