THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, will hold its 18th Annual Wine Dinner and Auction March 20 on The Pavilion’s Main Stage. This exclusive dinner funds scholarships for local students pursuing the fine arts in higher education.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with a wine and hors d’oeurves reception and music from Maydwell Musical Group. Following the reception, Fleming’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar will cater a 4-course seated dinner paired with fabulous Napa Valley boutique wines. The cost to attend the event is $225 per person.

This year’s event honors John Robichau of Robichau’s Jewelry. Robichau currently serves as the president of The Pavilion Partners board and is a member of The Pavilion’s board of directors. He has been a member of Partners since 2009 and is a frequent underwriter of Partners fundraising events.

“John has been so involved with Partners and has been a great supporter of the Wine Dinner and scholarship program for such a long time,” said Lisa Koetting, co-chair of the Wine Dinner & Auction. “Each year he donates a beautiful piece of jewelry to the auction and earrings for our scholarship donors. It is the perfect opportunity to publicly honor him and all he does for us.”

In addition to fine food and wine, the evening includes a live and bid board auction highlighting trips, wine dinners, custom-made jewelry, lavish wine baskets and more. Montgomery County natives Judy Larsen Olson and Nelda Blair bring their talents as auctioneers to the event.

This year’s featured live auction package is an exciting getaway to the Chianti region of Italy. Guests will have access to the 18,000-square-foot Serravalle Estate including vineyards, pool/Jacuzzi, olive orchards and an underground suite for wine tasting. Serravalle’s on-site support staff can help arrange a variety of tours so guests can explore Siena, Chianti Hill towns and Florence.

The Annual Wine Dinner continues a tradition of raising funds for scholarships awarded to local high school students planning to study in the arts in college. Last year a record 259 guests attended the dinner and raised approximately $170,000. Since its inception, Partners has awarded more than $831,000 in scholarships to students.

Scholarships are awarded to students in the following categories: vocal music, instrumental music, theater arts, dance, visual arts and computer graphic arts. The awards, based on talent and academic performance, are presented each spring. The remaining net proceeds from the event benefit The Pavilion’s educational outreach programs including Fine Arts Education Day, Musical Scores and Children’s Festival.

Underwriters of the event include Sylvia Caracio, Candi & Gerald Glenn, Judy & Dick Jones, Lisa & Fred Koetting, The George Lindahl Family, JoAnne & Randy Lowry, Cindy Notarainni, Lorri & Brian Petrauskas, Robichau’s Jewelry, Whitney Bank and Carol Winkler.
