THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP) recently held their Quarterly Partner Luncheon at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center on Tuesday, January 19th. Guests first heard from Dr. Ed Robb, Chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors with special presentation, “The State of The Township”.

His focus on the achievements The Woodlands has seen and will continue to enjoy gave encouragement to both residence and businesses in attendance. The following speaker was Patrick Jankowski, Regional Economist and Vice President of Research for the Greater Houston Partnership. His regional update provided a candid observation of the economic environment that can be viewed as a balance of “Pollyanna” and “Pessimist."

For the past eleven years, the EDP has held their luncheons for Partners in order to keep them informed of important issues facing businesses today. Past topics have included Economic Development, Regionalism, State of Education, Law Enforcement Update, Center for Houston’s Future Scenarios 2040, Anadarko’s Current and Future Projects, State Economic Development and Tourism, Banking Executives Update, Life Science Update, State of our Economy, Local Tourism and Healthcare.

Gil Staley, CEO of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, said, “The State of The Township was a wonderful way to begin the new year. Dr. Robb, as the newly elected chairman, shared his commitment to leadership for this great community. Patrick Jankowski followed with a regional economic update. Patrick’s ability to share very complex information in such an accurate but entertaining way makes him a highly sought after speaker.”
