THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Bar Association (WBA) is pleased to announce that it will award two $3,000.00 scholarships to outstanding local high school students through The Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Ida G. Stewart and The Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Kevin T. Shea.

This marks the fourth year that the scholarships are open to graduating seniors residing in Montgomery County (public, private or homeschool) who are in good standing and will be attending a four-year university in the Fall of 2016.

Applicants must have an interest in attending law school upon completion of an undergraduate program, and have aspirations of becoming an attorney. The scholarship program is intended to recognize and encourage a spirit of community involvement and good citizenship among high school students residing in The Woodlands and surrounding areas of Montgomery County, and allow the WBA to support the next generation of young lawyers in our community.

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2016 no later than 11:00 p.m. CST. The recipients will be chosen based upon financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, citizenship and community involvement, demonstration of a strong desire to pursue a legal career, and recommendations. More details and the application can be found at www.woodlandsbarassociation.com/News or by emailing Ren e Rogers at VPScholarships@WoodlandsBarAssociation.com with any questions.

The Woodlands Bar Association was founded in 2006 to promote and develop the legal profession in The Woodlands, to provide networking and continuing legal education opportunities for its members, and to provide community service in areas where the members of the Association can use their unique legal skills to provide service to others.
