Thornton Financial Services top donor to MCABW Scholarship Drive

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The Montgomery County Association of Business Women (MCABW) announced the newest high level donor to their “This is How We Roll” scholarship drive. Helen Thornton of Thornton Financial Services has recently donated over $1,000, putting them in the top tier donors.

“Knowledge is power,” Thornton said. “The young people of today are our future and our children’s future. If my small contribution can help just one additional person get a good education, my donation has become an investment in the future for everyone in our community.”

Thornton Financial Services is a financial planning firm located in the heart of Conroe. The company’s goal is to help their clients find the perfect mix of products and services to allow them to reach their financial goals and take advantage of available opportunities and tax benefits.

“I love to be able to put myself in my clients’ shoes to understand what their goals, desires and needs are, then help guide them through the maze of financial products and strategies to get their financial house in order,” Thornton said.

The firm strongly believes in a solid investment program specifically tailored to fit client needs.

“We have a sincere desire to help individuals define their goals — envision them — then create a plan to achieve them,” she said.

That also means not just investing financially, but investing in the community and the future.

“The MCABW Foundation truly has a focus on charitable causes in our community,” Thornton said. “Working together, we can do so much for the betterment of our entire community where we all live, work and play.”

MCABW, founded in 2005, formed its Scholarship Foundation in 2015. Now, in its second year, the MCABW Scholarship Foundation benefits female graduates of Montgomery County high schools. Last year’s MCABW fundraiser raised $12,000 for college-bound young women.
