THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Springtime is right around the corner, and that means the thoughts of local residents turn to outdoor cooking. Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands has come up with a plan to celebrate the upcoming turn of seasons in style. They will be sponsoring the Throwdown Texas Burger & Beer Fest, which will be held at Town Green Park in The Woodlands on Saturday, April 23. From 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., dozens of local restaurants, eateries and burger joints will be invited to set up shop and fill bellies with burgers and slake thirsts with beers.

Sponsorships available for event that will include local foods, beers samples and live music

The event will be emceed by Fox 26’s Michelle Merhar, and live music will be presented on stage by local and regional music acts such as Josh Ward and Jason Cassidy. Adding to the festivities will be a “throwdown competition” between burger chefs, who will present their wares to celebrity judges that include Fox 26’s Cleverly Stone and the Houston Press’ Phaedra Cook in hopes of being named “Best Burger in Town.”

“This is a landmark event that we are proud to be presenting,” said Bob Milner, co-owner of Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands. “We are honored to bring a new type of festival to the area where music lovers with discriminating tastes can savor food and drinks not typically served at other festivals or events.”

Milner is also proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank. General admission tickets are $20 for early bird purchases and $25 on the day of the event, and include entry and an all-day concert pass. VIP tickets are $50 for early bird purchase and $60 on the day of the event and include entry, one 16-ounce beer, one burger, and access to a VIP tent with private seating and private bar. Additionally, Kid Zone tickets are available for $5.

Town Green park is located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, along the banks of The Woodlands Waterway, between The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the South Montgomery County Library. Additional information can be found at www.throwdowntx.com.
