Burglary arrest made at Amegy Bank in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — On Saturday, February 6, 2016, at approximately 8:10 PM, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division were dispatched to a business alarm in 4500 block of Research Forest Drive, at the Amegy Bank, in The Woodlands, Texas.

A responding deputy witnessed a suspicious male exiting the ground floor lobby doors pushing a chair on rollers. The chair appeared to have an object on it covered with a coat. The deputy made contact with the male and attempted to identify him. When questioned, the male provided the deputy with a false name. During the course of the investigation, the male attempted to flee on foot, running from the deputy. After a foot pursuit, the male was detained and returned to the location for further investigation. The male eventually provided his correct identity. An investigation revealed that the male suspect entered the location by possibly using a key card. After making entry, the suspect pried open teller drawers and attempted to steal an undisclosed amount of currency.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit Investigators arrived at the scene. After conclusion of the investigation, the suspect, 59 year old Rodney Dale Carroll, was arrested and charged with burglary of a building, evading detention, and failure to identify.
