THE WOODLANDS, Texas — United Capital of The Woodlands, a financial life management firm, today announces that it has gifted $25,000 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Today’s donation is part of a larger charitable campaign that took place in over 40 cities around the country in which United Capital has a presence. The Managing Director leading the charge in The Woodlands is Byron Ellis. The campaign, in total, has raised more than $100,000 for charities across America.

“We are honored to be able to extend a helping hand to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a time when many patients within our reach are facing an array of hardships. Our hope is twofold: That this donation can immediately ease the burden for patients and their families in the Houston area, and also spark businesses and families in our area to give as much as they can,” said Ellis in The Woodlands. “While a cliché, I can attest to it because I am experiencing the feeling now, ‘it does feel better to give than receive.’”

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, who has been working with United Capital over the past few weeks for this drive and increased awareness, was notified of the gift today. Breanna Bueche, spokesperson for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offers, “This gift couldn’t have come at a better time for us and we’re thankful for United Capital’s help. Many that we help have faced significant hurdles in life. Having a corporate partner like United Capital show such generosity will help make a real difference for many of the families we serve.”

At the same time, United Capital encourages everyone who can to consider donating their time and means to charities across the country and in their own backyards. To help consumers do so, we’ve created this Charitable Giving Checklist for consideration and use, and invite you to read this blog post by one of our advisers on others ways to give back.
