THE WOODLANDS, Texas – While the 2016 BB&T Woodlands CrawPHish Festival may still be a couple of months away, the pre-event celebrations are already in full swing. This Saturday, February 13, organizers will host an art contest for students ages 5 through 12 at Painting With a Twist, located at 570 Sawdust Road in The Woodlands. The contest takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This contest is the last chance for children to enter their artistic submissions. Local judges will choose a total of three winners from this and previous contests, with the winning artwork being printed on the official 2016 BB&T Woodlands CrawPHish Festival t-shirt. Additionally, all artistic submissions from the contests will be prominently displayed at the festival itself, which will take place on April 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Town Green Park.

The festival will be a full day of live music, BBQ, kids’ activities and, of course, crawfish with all the trimmings for an expected attendance count of more than 4,000 people. The festival is more than a fun time for the entire family; it’s also a charitable event in partnership with the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce to help find a cure for Pulmonary Hypertension (hence the “PH” spelling in the festival name).

The first 25 children registered for the contest will be admitted free; once those slots are filled, there is a $25 registration fee per child. You can preregister your child by logging on to www.paintingwithatwist.com/woodlands or by calling 281-465-4995. For more information, please email bburress@ocscor.com.
