Election Ethics Violations

This letter to the editor is in response to a previous opinion letter which attempts to publicly tarnish the name of one of the candidates in the Sheriff's race. Clearly this 'opinion piece' was written by a staunch supporter of the candidate, Jim Napolitano, and her only intention was to try and make her candidate of choice look better than his opponent. Sadly, all she did was make herself and her candidate look bad because of her personal attacks on what the supporters looked like. A better argument would have been to explain what makes her candidate more qualified. As a self-proclaimed 'informed voter' she should have been able to do so, but instead she chose to use her own form of intimidation on the voting public by making false claims of voter intimidation.

Witnesses have seen and documented evidence of Napolitano's wife electioneering with their small child within the 100 foot marker. This is a clear elections ethics violation and yet another example of the lack of character this candidate has. In addition, people have witnessed and overheard Jim Napolitano handing voters his personal business card and telling them to "call him for a job." In addition, Napolitano's supporters have been promising voters parking spots against the curb. That is voter bribery!

Jim Napolitano has repeatedly violated the election laws during his campaign and has shown he will lie, cheat, and steal to win this election. 'The Roving Reporter' published an article in January detailing one of these indiscretions and I encourage readers to go read it for themselves. I don’t expect you to believe it without evidence like the previously person does.

I would also like to state that any county employees who are at the voting sites promoting the candidate they want for Montgomery County Sheriff are volunteering on their own time and are not there in an official capacity. These men and women want to work for a Sheriff who is ethical and follows not only the letter of the law but also its intent. The actions displayed by Jim Napolitano during this campaign are representative of the type of dishonest behavior we see in our federal government. Is that really what we want for Montgomery County or from our Sheriff? I know I don’t. That's why I'm voting for Rand Henderson for Montgomery County Sheriff.
