UPDATE: SAT cancelled for students testing at TWHS; Road closures, traffic advisory for The Woodlands Marathon

UPDATE: The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) at The Woodlands High School Saturday morning has been cancelled due to several road closures for the safety of marathon participants and spectators the day of the exam. Keep up to date with SAT Test Center closings on the College Board's website.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Fidelity Investments The Woodlands Marathon is just around the corner, and several road closures will be in effect for the safety of the event’s runners and spectators.

Drivers should expect delays ranging from 45 minutes to an hour if they cross into the designated racecourse area and five minute delays if they exit neighborhoods onto Flintridge, Research Forest Dr. or Lake Woodlands Dr.

Marathon management recommends only residential traffic through and around the racecourse between 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and they urge drivers not to attempt to cross over the race course during the event.

Designated right of ways are as follows:

Northbound:


Kuykendahl 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Woodloch Forest 7 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

FM 2978 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

I-45 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

Southbound:


Branch Crossing 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Woodloch Forest 7 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

FM 2978 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

I-45 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

Westbound:


Woodlands Parkway 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

Research Forest Drive 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

I-45 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

Lake Woodlands Drive (west of New Trails) 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Eastbound:


Woodlands Parkway 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Open

Highway 242 7 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Lake Woodlands Dr. eastbound lanes will be closed between 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. from Kuykendahl to make Front Circle, and one lane will be opened at approximately 10 a.m.

Drivers on the road during the hours of the marathon are suggested to expect five minute delays at intersections, add 10 to 15 minutes for travel times, prepare and map their courses the day before driving and call or e-mail management with any questions at (346) 224-4708 or admin@thewoodlandsmarathon.com.
