THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Results from the week of March 7

Girls' Softball:

March 8 at Cypress Christian Cooper 7 * Cypress Christian 2 win

Comments from Coach Nicole Hedden: "Although Cypress Christian jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Dragons never trailed after scoring four runs in the third on a two-run home run by Emily Coon and a two-run single by Nikki Juszczak. Congratulations to Emily Coon who had a good night. She had two extra base hits and a home run in the third inning She also doubled in the fourth inning."

Pitcher Kathryn Early gave up just one hit and allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out eight during her seven innings.

March 11 Cooper 6 * Second Baptist 2 win WP: Bobby Finnie Finnie went six innings, squandered four hits, and struck out seven. Hitting highlights: Emerson Raybon was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI ** The win vs. Second Baptist was career win #200 for Coach Landrum. **

March 11 Cooper 6 * Fort Worth Southwest Christin 9 loss LP: Evan Minarovic

March 12 Cooper 2 * Northland Christian 3 loss WP: Braden Sebesta Save: Henry McNeill Hitting highlights: Logan Leax was 1-for-3 with a 2-run home run.

The team heads for Florida this weekend for five games next week. The Dragons carry an 8-7 record into spring break.
