THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Interfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce Cindy Harlan has been selected to be Interfaith’s 2016 Women of Distinction. Cindy will be honored at the annual luncheon in May, which celebrates the accomplishments provided by volunteers to local organizations throughout the year.

Cindy Harlan has been with Interfaith for over 10 years. In 2015, she dedicated over 700 hours to the Interfaith Food Pantry. Cindy currently volunteers in the Interfaith Food Pantry on a regular basis spending up to five days a week preparing groceries for distribution, shelving donations and orienting new student and adult volunteers when needed.

“Her willingness to serve in any capacity makes her a wonderful asset to Interfaith, and we are extremely grateful for her contributions. She is most deserving of this special award,” said Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

“I enjoy the comradery and teamwork that volunteering provides and especially find fulfillment in mentoring the National Charity League and the National Charity Roundtable volunteers that help in the Food Pantry on a regular basis and collaborating with the adult volunteers as well,” said Cindy Harlan.

Cindy Harlan also sews Prayer Blankets for St. Anthony of Padua’s St. Clare Society, is an active member of PEO, an organization that raises funds for college and post-graduate scholarships for women, and participated with the Entergy Focus community service program in New Orleans and The Woodlands.

The annual Women of Distinction luncheon will be held on May 27, 2016 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.
