THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Strykers are excited to announce the signings of two Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas. Redshirt junior first baseman Jimmy Roche and freshman corner infielder Ruben Almaguer look to solidify the Stryker infield for the upcoming season.

Jimmy Roche, after being redshirted in 2013, received action in 28 games the following year. In 2014, Roche was primarily used as a late inning defensive replacement at first base. However, in 2015, Roche saw an exponential increase in appearances starting 31 of the Javelina’s 46 outings while tallying a .262 batting average, 19 RBIs, and a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen base opportunities. 2016 has been good to Roche’s stat sheet as well. This season, Roche holds a .319 batting average while also chipping in 3 HRs, 44 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.

Ruben Almaguer, a true freshman infielder from Deer Park, Texas, has been an immediate impact player for the Javelinas this season. Almaguer has appeared in all 39 games for the Javelinas this season, starting 38 at 3rd base. The Javelina offense has been the beneficiary of Almaguer’s well-rounded skillset as the freshman also contributed 37 RBIs, 26 runs, 41 hits, a HR along with a .315 batting average.
