Hughes Landing wins coveted Houston Business Journal's Landmark Award

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC), and its wholly-owned subsidiary The Woodlands® Development Company, announced today that Hughes Landing® - the premier “lifestyle intersection” situated on Lake Woodlands® in the acclaimed master planned community - garnered the 2016 Houston Business Journal’s Landmark Award in the mixed-use category. The award was presented to executives of the company at the Landmark Awards Dinner held at the Omni Houston Hotel on Thursday, April 14. The 66-acre pedestrian-friendly project was conceived and developed in only three years and is quickly becoming recognized as one of the Houston region’s best mixed-use developments.

According to the Houston Business Journal, the Landmark Awards “recognize real estate projects that make significant impressions on the Houston landscape and improve the look, feel and image of the city.”

Hughes Landing is a dynamic destination, complete with seven eateries at Restaurant Row, retail, multifamily living, Embassy Suites by Hilton and Class A office space. Retailers that are now open include 18|8 Fine Men’s Salons, Cadence Bank, CUPS Frozen Yogurt, KB Kasuals, Kriser’s Natural Pet, Macaron by Patisse, Norton Ditto, Pier 1 Imports®, Pure Barre, Starbucks®, Venetian Nail Spa, Whole Foods Market® and Willa Boutique. Beauty Statement, Broken Barrel, RIDE Indoor Cycling and Woodlands Laser & Aesthetics are coming soon. The Blue Fish, California Pizza Kitchen, Del Frisco’s Grille, Escalante’s Fine Tex-Mex & Tequila, Fogo de Chão, Local Pour and Truluck’s are now open at Restaurant Row. Hughes Landing also features water sports, numerous pieces of public art, a dog park and an entertainment venue.

One Lakes Edge, an eight-story luxury apartment community situated in Hughes Landing, was also named as a finalist in the Landmark Awards’ multifamily category. One Lakes Edge features one- to three-bedroom designs. Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, infinity edge pool with an expansive pool deck, show kitchen and a large club room with an elevated outdoor terrace overlooking the lake.
