OAK RIDGE NORTH, Texas – The summer’s about to get hotter at The Woodland’s RedLine Athletics Youth Training Center. LSU alumni Sammy Joseph formerly of the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans will be taking on Texas A&M alum Reggie McNeal of Cincinnati Bengals fame in a grudge match disguised as a Saturday summer camp experience for young athletes Saturday, June 18th and Saturday, July 23rd from 10am to 1pm at RedLine Athletics – The Woodlands.

Some very lucky young athletes will join the two football pros in a day of skills and drills – including instruction and education on football fundamentals, training and evaluation as well as insight into the exciting NCAAF and NFL experience from those who have been there. The day will culminate in a head to head scrimmage with Coach Joseph and Coach McNeal each planning to lead their respective Tiger and Aggie squads to victory!

The two athletes, who met playing for the CFL, always wondered what the outcome would have been if they had met head-to-head during their days as collegiate players. After being considered one of the top three high school players in Louisiana, Joseph played cornerback for the Tigers in 2005 and 2006 after transferring from Colorado where he had been recruited in 2003. He saw action in a total of 17 games during that time and was also a key member of LSU’s special team unit. He went on to play the DB position for the San Francisco 49ers after signing with the NFL team in 2007 and spent time with the Houston Texans later in his career.

Coaching for the RedLine “Aggies,” quarterback McNeal played for Texas A&M beginning in 2002 after coming off the bench to throw a freshman record 4 TDs and leading the Aggies to victory over then No.1 Oklahoma. He then continued to start for A&M through his college career, gathering many honors and awards including being heralded as “The most complete dual-threat quarterback in the nation” by ESPN (2004). He was drafted in 2006 as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, finishing his career playing for CFL teams in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton.

Both pros will be flashing their bowl game rings in the Texas sun while they prep their athletes for a fantastic day of collegiate and professional grade training and education. RedLine Athletics – The Woodlands, a 7,000 sf youth training facility located in the beautiful Oak Ridge North area, is pleased to host this one-of-a-kind camp experience. Male and female area athletes 8-13 years of age will attend the June 18th camp while athletes ages 14 and up are invited to the July 23rd camp. Teams are forming now and interested athletes and parents are encouraged to call RedLine at 832-642-5058 or email ksmith@redlineathletics.com for more information on registering.
