THE WOODLANDS, Texas — On Friday May 13, 2016, The Woodlands High School Improv Troupe had its final show for the 2015 – 2016 season in benefit of a local businessman Stan Lee. We were able to raise $3,141 to donate to Mr. Lee and his battle with ALS. Thank you to everyone who attended the event and helped raise over $3,000!

The troupe is made up of 16 students who put on monthly improv shows with all the proceeds raised that night donated to the student selected charity of the month. Over nine Mainstage Shows and two Pop Up Shows were put on this year, and the students on the Improv Troupe were able to raise over $25,127 for various local charities and community members! The charities and community members this year included, The Montgomery County Food Bank, Curing Rett Syndrome, Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch, The Will Herndon Fund, Ryan Logan and AVM Research, Children’s Safe Harbor, The Sunflower Scholarship, Ms. Kayla Hughes, Montgomery County Youth Services, AVON Walk to End Breast Cancer, and Mr. Stan Lee. The Improv Troupe was also able to get out in the community to assist with Destination Imagination teams and perform at local events. For more information on all of these charities and the Improv Troupe, please go to www.twhstheater.com/improv.

The Woodlands High School Improv Troupe will look to continue its charitable ways next year and would love to get suggestions for charities or community members to spotlight and raise money for. If you would like to submit a charity for next year please contact Matthew Peters at mtpeters@conroeisd.net.
