Texas Rush U13 Girls – National Cup State Champions

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Texas Rush hosted the United Soccer Clubs Regional State Cup / U13 National event at two locations within The Woodlands (Gosling / Bear Branch) during Memorial Day weekend. Teams from the Houston area traveled into The Woodlands competed in cup competitions throughout the day. Due to the bad weather that the Houston soccer market has endured in the last month, a large number of youth soccer games have been postponed or totally cancelled. The club was asked to host these games due to the fact that they have access to all-weather playing fields.

“I am very proud of the progress this team has made since August. Individually and collectively they have grown significantly as players. Today, their hard work was rewarded with a State Cup victory and a chance to compete for a National Championship in July. Well done ladies!” Andrew Squire – Head Coach.

Marley Krach on her last minute winning goal in the Semi-Final: “I knew when Sara got into the wide position she would put a great cross in. I timed my run to the far post area and headed the ball down where the keeper couldn’t reach it. I was overjoyed when I saw the ball cross the line because our team had dominated the entire game, but had several unlucky shots on goal against a great goal keeper. With the score being 0-0 with less than a minute left in the game, I knew I needed to have a quick impact or we were going to PKs. I did not want to take the chance of our season ending.”

National Championship in Aurora, Colorado July 22-25
