Woodlands bank robber sideswipes vehicle during escape

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - On Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at approximately 3:35 PM, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division were dispatched to a robbery call, at the Prosperity Bank, located in the 3200 block of College Park Drive, in The Woodlands, Texas.

Upon deputies’ arrival, they were advised that a male entered the bank and slid a note to one of the bank tellers. Reportedly the note stated that he wanted all the money from the bank teller. The bank teller complied with the note’s direction and provided the suspect with the money in her bank drawer. The male then left the bank and was witnessed leaving in a white Chrysler minivan. The suspect did not display a weapon during the robbery.

Descriptions of the suspect is a white male, 20 to 25 years old, slender build, wearing a white ball cap (with the letters NY on front in black or blue), a blue and white striped long sleeve shirt and blue workout pants. The white Chrysler minivan that the suspect fled in is believed to have side-swiped another vehicle while fleeing the scene. The minivan may have damage to either side of the vehicle.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Units and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. The investigation is on-going and investigators are in the process of reviewing evidence.
