THE WOODLANDS, Texas – John Anthony Brown, a volunteer-of- the-year nominee from the Alden Bridge Village Association, and Facilities Supervisor at Huntsman International here, has filed for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors at Position 3.

Based on Brown’s announced platform, as presented on his web site and other materials, he will campaign with the seal of Residents’ Advocate © ; meaning his actions on the board will directly reflect opinions and needs of The Woodlands’ residents as opposed to those of developers, county commissioners, and special interests. With a campaign slogan of “Brown Delivers,” he lists “Quality of Life,” “Maximizing Public Safety,” “Honor Family Values,” “Control Our Own Destiny” and planning for “Future Governance.”

Brown will ask residents to join him with their vote in a call to “Let’s Make History.” His campaign group has calculated that with three other Residents’ Advocates supporters already on the board, Brown’s election, for the first time, could provide a residents’ majority vote. By working with like-minded board members, Brown says, they can truly represent the best interests of residents over developers. He pledges as an example, that he will continue to oppose the extension of Woodlands Parkway because it was defeated by 87 percent of residents and the county has not removed it from its thoroughfare plan.

“We must maintain and protect The Woodlands through smart governance, save our trees, and avoid tax increases,” Brown says.

His web site is BrownforTownship.com with a link to his campaign Facebook site.
