THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is holding an open design contest to create a special set of venue-related Snapchat Geofilters. Geofilters are location activated designs used within the Snapchat app.

With over 100 million daily users, Snapchat is undoubtedly widely used at many of The Pavilion’s events. In 2015, over 460,000 guests attended shows at The Pavilion, leaving thousands of Snapchat users without a Geofilter option to celebrate their Pavilion experience. The Pavilion is now looking to local artists, designers and creative thinkers in the community for help.

Artists have the opportunity to submit work in three categories that characterize a true Pavilion experience:

  1. A Night at The Pavilion
  2. Lawn Life and;
  3. Pit Perks

Artists may submit multiple designs for one or more of the categories; there is no submission limit.

All work must be submitted by Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 11:59 P.M and all design rules and specifications must be considered. The top three designs in each category will then be made available on The Pavilion’s Facebook page for fan voting using “likes” and “shares” as a point system. Voting will begin on Wednesday, August 17 and end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 21.

The winner(s) will receive design recognition at The Sound Of Music Sing-A- Long on August 27, 2016, an interview published on The Pavilion Blog, design credit on the Live Nation pre- concert advertising reel at all shows remaining in 2016 and a priceless portfolio-building opportunity.

Contest guidelines, templates and submission information can be found at www.woodlandscenter.org/snapchat.
