UPDATE: Murder-suicide of 3-year old girl and father linked to PTSD

The man who killed his 3-year old daughter then turned the gun on himself as negotiators were trying to resolve the situation, has been identified as Brian David Gilson. Alledgedly, Gilson, 45, was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. <p>

CONROE, Texas – A man shot and killed his 3-year-old daughter, then turned the gun on himself in defiance of turning his child over to deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office in a custody dispute with his ex-wife.

The incident occurred approximately 6:00 p.m., Friday at the Dominion Apartments located east of I-45N and south of FM 1488. Conroe SWAT and police were called in when the man pulled a gun, and after a 20-minute standoff, the man shot himself in the head.

Deputies entered the apartment and found the 3-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to her head.
