THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) 2016 senior, Travis May, signed a letter of intent with Texas Lutheran University (TLU) in Seguin, Texas earlier this month. May graduated on May 20, 2016 from Legacy Prep and will be playing football for TLU in the fall. He was recruited to play defensive end for the TLU Bulldogs.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) in The Woodlands, Texas comprised of grades pre- kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

“This has been a dream come true. I have always wanted to play college football, and being able to go to TLU is an honor,” said Travis May.

May attended Legacy Prep for eleven years and was active in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. He received all district honors as a back on the offensive side of the ball every year from his freshman through senior seasons and on the defensive side of the line in his freshman and sophomore seasons. At Legacy, May received most valuable player honors his freshman, sophomore and senior seasons.

Legacy Prep Athletic Director Larry Harvey stated, “Travis May is no ordinary young man. I have had the privilege to coach Travis the last two years and have enjoyed every moment. Travis is a man of great character, leads by example, unselfish as a player, and works hard on and off the field. I look forward to watching Travis discover God's purpose for his life.”

According to Audra May, Travis’ mother, “Travis has dreamed of playing football in college since he was in junior high. I know he will go to Texas Lutheran University and work as hard for them as he has worked for his Legacy family. We are proud of our future TLU Bulldog!”

Travis May added, “Thank you to everyone who ever supported me. You have helped me build my Legacy. I am forever a Legacy Lion.”
