THE WOODLANDS, Texas — While the closing ceremonies from the Rio Olympics aired on Sunday, families in the greater Houston area are still basking in the glow of Olympic Gold thanks to Nike and sponsored athletes Simone Biles and Brittney Griner.

Over the weekend, Nike delivered dozens of pairs of Nike Waffle 1’s (infant booties) to Women’s Memorial Hermann Hospitals in The Woodlands and Memorial City in honor of hometown heroes and gold medalists Biles and Griner.

The Nike Waffle 1’s were gifted to the hospitals’ littlest patients “to celebrate amazing athletic achievements and to inspire a new generation of athletes with their first pair of Nike Shoes,” according to Nike. The shoe giveaway is part of Nike’s larger Unlimited campaign that features the Unlimited Future video.
