Sandwiches for dessert: Try a cupcake sandwich at Frost

What is the meaning of life? Do aliens exist? Who would win a fight: my dad or your dad? These are some of life's greatest and most oft-debated questions. Today, I would like to submit one more for your consideration: can a cupcake also be a sandwich?

On the surface you might think the answer is a no-brainer but I assure you, this is not as easy as debating whether a hotdog is a sandwich (it's not...though I will concede that a hotdog sandwich is). But to arrive at this conclusion, you must be willing to accept that there are multiple ways to eat a cupcake. This truism was shown to me by a friend on Instagram and my lovely wife; but because I'm a man of science, I insisted on running my own experiment so I immediately headed to Frost Bake Shoppe to begin my research.

The beauty of true science is that in order to do it properly, I must be able to replicate my results. This meant that the problem most people have when entering a cupcake shop in deciding what to get, was no issue at all for me: I could pick them all if I wanted. But, I'm also frugal when it comes to buying pants, so with that in mind, I kept my choices to four: Black Velvet; Red Velvet; Toffee Crunch; Chocolate Dream.

In order to establish a "sandwichness" factor for the cupcakes (I didn't eat them all - the wifey wanted her own research) I used a knife and cut off about half the cake below the top. I then placed the cutoff part on top of the icing. Adhering to the strict definition of a sandwich according to Webster's (made up fact...sorry) I had done it! I had created a Cupcake Sandwich! Not rocket science but it is bakery science and that is just as good (as long as we're not going to the moon or anything).
