THE WOODLANDS, Texas - We Rock the Spectrum-The Woodlands will celebrate its grand opening 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday Sept. 10.

The event is open to the public.

We Rock the Spectrum children's gyms provide sensory-safe play for kids with autism, special needs and neurotypical development.

The CEO and Founder of We Rock the Spectrum, Dina Kimmel, will be attending the grand opening in The Woodlands, 387C Sawdust Road. Kimmel opened the first gym in Tarzana, California after her son was diagnosed with autism and she struggled to find a safe place where both her son and her daughter could go together.

Ana and Jose Escolero are the owners of We Rock the Spectrum – The Woodlands. Ana graduated from Ashworth College with honors with a focus on Early Childhood Education.

When her daughter Sarah was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyscalculia, Ana began to research ways to better understand and help her daughter. She also took a job at a clinic to work with kids with special needs and it completely changed her life.

“I was able to make sure my daughter received the best care she needed and it allowed me to help as many families as I could,” Ana said. “From that point on I have dedicated my life to helping special needs children and their families.”

The celebration is open to any child, regardless of his or her developmental level. Children will be able to play with all of the specialized equipment, including the trampoline, swings and zip line.

Admission is $12 per child, and 20 percent of the proceeds will benefit the My Brother Rocks the Spectrum Foundation.
