THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Preparatory School has invited John Anthony Brown to serve on its advisory board, according to Daniel Fernandez, Headmaster.

Brown, who is a resident of Alden Bridge in The Woodlands, accepted the invitation.

"It's an honor and a privilege to help develop the youths and future leaders of the community," Brown said.

The Woodlands Preparatory School Headmaster Daniel Fernandez said the goal is to develop an advisory committee that assists in assuring the curriculum is not only rigorous, but aligned with stakeholders.

"Through the committee you will not only gain exposure, but can serve as a liaison to our school," Fernandez said to Brown through the inivtation to serve. "I believe that together we can do amazing things in the Woodlands.”

Brown is currently facilities supervisor at Huntsman International headquarters in The Woodlands. Coincidentally, he said, he is still a student himself. Brown holds an honors degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, but will soon complete advanced studies and graduate from BYU-Idaho.

Brown has been very active in The Woodlands community since arriving here in 2010 with his wife Bonnie, their young daughter, Madison, now 8, and stepson Ryan, 23. He serves on the Alden Bridge Village Association board where he was nominated as Volunteer of the Year in 2015.
