THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Upper School students in grades nine through 12 at The John Cooper School are busy preparing for their upcoming main stage production of “The Boy Friend,” opening Nov. 11 and running through Nov. 13.

Under the direction of theater arts teacher Mary Rotella, students have been learning such dances as the Charleston and the Peabody, for this period piece that is set at a finishing school in the French Riviera in the 1920s.

Music Director Rae Moses said the song lyrics are sweet and innocent, in sync with the lighthearted nature of the show. “The show has lots of twists and turns, including cases of mistaken identity,” Rotella said. “It’s just a lot of fun, and is appropriate for all ages to enjoy.”

“The Boy Friend” runs November 11-12 at 7 p.m. and November 12-13 at 2 p.m. in the Glenn Performing Arts Center at The John Cooper School.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors at www.johncooper.org.
