John Cooper student in The Woodlands ranks 17th in state triple jump

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Obie Amudo, a junior at The John Cooper School, was the girls’ triple jump champion at the Victor Lopez Classic Invitational at Rice University on March 24 and 25.

Her winning jump of 38' 3 1/4" not only earned her a first-place medal, but it currently ranks her 17 th in the state and is the leading jump in the Southwest Preparatory Conference. Amudo also placed fifth in the long jump with a 17’3” jump. She competed against 39 athletes in both events from schools across the Greater Houston and surrounding areas.

Both performances set school records at The John Cooper School.
