THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Dreams of Sugarplums have danced their way into the heart of Texas Academy of Dance Arts.

Under the direction of Houston Ballet Soloist, Elise Elliott, TADA is excited to announce the launching of its brand new Pre-Professional Youth Ballet Company (YBC).

The TADA YBC is for serious, highly-motivated dancers who wish to train as professionals in anticipation of a future in classical ballet. The program offers a progressive and focused curriculum enriched by performances, expert guidance, college preparation, and mentorship from a real Nutcracker Snow Queen, Elise Elliott.

Elise Elliott, the Director of Ballet at TADA, currently dances as a Soloist with the Houston Ballet. Originally from Sacramento, California, Elise became a member of the Houston Ballet in November of 2007. She has enjoyed being featured in works by many choreographers including Stanton Welch, Antony Tudor, Ben Stevenson, Jiri Kylian, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Christopher Bruce, Sir Kenneth Macmillan, Wayne MacGregor and John Cranko. Elise is happily married to a fellow TADA ballet instructor and Houston Ballet Demi-Soloist, Rhodes Elliott.

“Membership to the TADA YBC is not only a significant highlight on any college-bound or professional resume, it is also a testament to a dancer’s higher learning, work ethic, and passion for the art of classical ballet. Company members and apprentices will be provided with a guided and focused curriculum enhanced by opportunities to attend notable ballet events such as the YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix), summer intensives, in-house ballet master classes, and more,” says Elliott.

The TADA Youth Ballet Company and Apprentice Company will begin in the Fall of 2017. Participation in the Nutcracker is required and an integral part of the pre-professional education. To be eligible for acceptance into the TADA YBC or Apprentice Company, dancers must be leveled in a TADA ballet level 3 or higher and be available to attend the Nutcracker Auditions on May 7 th at Texas Academy of Dance Arts on Hanna Road in Oak Ridge North.
