THE WOODLANDS, Texas – On the last Monday of May, we remember the men and women who died while serving in the United State’s armed forces.

Not to be confused with Veterans Day, which celebrates the service of all U.S military veterans, Memorial Day is a federal holiday dedicated to memorialize those who have died in military service.

In the past, people have joined together to honor the lives of these heroes with fireworks, barbeques and family time.

Here are the events happening in The Woodlands to celebrate Memorial Day and commemorate these fallen American heroes.

The Woodlands Memorial Day Challenge – 8:00 a.m.

Participate in VEL Institute’s first annual Memorial Day Challenge, which features a series of workouts and physical tests with awards for the winners.
