Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital sneak peek

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Just days away from officially opening on July 1, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and community-wide open house on June 10.

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, Conroe Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, and The Woodlands Township, as well as other leaders of the community, attended the ribbon cutting event.

This gathering was followed by a community-wide open house during which more than 1,000 guests took a sneak peek of the hospital that is soon to open in The Woodlands.

Tours of the beautiful new state-of-the-art hospital were highlighted by live entertainment by the a cappella singing group The Cat’s Pajamas and highlighted by appearances by Houston Texans’ defensive back Johnathan Joseph, Houston Texans Cheerleaders and mascot TORO, and Houston Dynamo mascot Dynamo Diesel.

Outside the hospital, an inflatable human heart and inflatable human skeleton presented walk-through, interactive tours. Throughout the 470,000 square-foot, 187-bed, natural-light infused hospital, patients and visitors will experience cutting edge technology, spacious patient rooms with amenities that promote an environment of healing, and one-of-a-kind creations by local artists.

The hospital features 28 emergency room beds, 34 childbirth center beds, 25 ICU beds, 10 operating rooms and a diagnostic imaging center, including the latest generation CT scanner – a 384-slice CT.

Master-planned for 400 beds as the community continues to grow, it is the eighth hospital in a system that has served the Houston area for nearly 100 years.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital will also provide dedicated personnel and resources for international patients.
