THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- The Woodlands will take on George Ranch on Friday, September 22nd. This is another game for The Highlanders that will determine where they stand in the state and the second week in a row where they face hefty competition.

The Woodlands are coming off a heartbreaking loss from Katy last week but both teams played very well. Although they suffered a loss, there are some positives from the game and the first one to come to mind is the quarterback play. Quinn Binney looked as comfortable as he could ever look under center for their first game. Kesean Carter also looked good in the Katy game as he added a 104 yard kick return for a touchdown to his resume, he also added a few receptions in the game. The pass defense proved to be tough as well as they held the Katy offense to very short yardage through the air but as far as running goes they gave up a few big runs that eventually cost them the game.

This week will be a fresh start for both sides of the ball and the key against George Ranch on offense will be to execute those plays that were “almost” plays per say. Binney will have to be comfortable again in the pocket. If The Highlanders can connect in the passing game they will come away with the victory.

Their defense will have a tough task once again this week for defending the rush against George Ranch’s Jay’Ren Miller.

George Ranch has one of the better running attacks in the state and Miller will come to play. George Ranch is coming off of a 35-13 win over Universidad Nuevo De Leon from Mexico and their offense clicked. George Ranch quarterback Christian Jackson looked solid as he passed for more than 200 yards in the game along with three touchdowns and of course Jay’Ren Miller had a great game as well, running for over 100 yards.

George Ranch will be looking to depend on the run against The Woodlands and utilize Miller out of the backfield.

Friday night will bring a lot of excitement and this game will be pretty close from start to finish but The Highlanders will definitely be looking to avenge last week's loss and a win against George Ranch will keep The Highlanders in contender discussion.

The Woodlands will come away with this one 31-24 and it will be quite a game to watch.

Once again, Friday night at Woodforest Stadium these two will go head to head at 7:30 pm for another great Texas high school football battle. I would be there if I were you.
