College Park coming off one of their most important victories in their short history beating Deer Park 20-19 last week.

This Friday was not any easier for the Cavaliers. Going against former district rival A&M Consolidated. College Park’ Sebastian Cos started off intercepting Tiger’s Quarterback Caden Fedora on the first defensive snap for the Cavaliers. The defense for the Cavaliers was the story in this one. Austin Fox finished the first half with 2 sacks and a fumble recovery. Not much was going for both offenses in the first half with College Park missing Dane Vann and Travis Washburn coming off after the first two drives with an injury.

Max Bowman starts at quarterback for the Cavaliers in the second half. The Tigers opened up the second half with a 26 yard touchdown run by quarterback Caden Fedora on their second drive of the half putting them up 10-3. On the following kickoff, College Park’s Roger Younger explodes up the middle returning the kick to the 45 yard line.

With 6:31 left in the 3rd quarter Fedora found Devin Price for an 84 yard touchdown pass to put the Tigers up 17-3. On the Cavaliers following drive they were pinned within the 1 yard line due to a phenomenal Caden Williams kick. On 3rd down for the Cavs quarterback Max Bowman was called for intentional grounding in the end zone giving the Tigers a safety and a 19-3 lead. The Tigers were given the ball back on the safety and resumed their success, making their way all the way to the College Park 5 yard line. A big 3rd down stop lead to a 23 yard field goal attempt that ended up wide right.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Adam Myres lays a big hit on Steven Ray and forced the fumble picked by Cooper Lucas for a 23 yard return. Carson Mohr followed through with a field goal on the following possession making the score 19-6. Late in the 4th quarter Jake Hunnicutt scrambled out of pressure and hit Peyton Sobosle for a 64 yard touchdown to bring College Park within six points. The Cavaliers had one last chance with 1:31 left to play. The Cavs were ultimately stopped with the ferocious Tigers defense getting to Hunnicutt.

Final in this one was a 19-13 victory for the Tigers. College Parks next game is against Lufkin on September 29th.
