THE WOODLANDS, Texas---The College Park Cavaliers and The Oak Ridge War Eagles came into Friday night’s game going in two very different directions, with the Cavaliers having lost three of their last four and Oak Ridge not having lost a game all season long.

In the first half, Oak Ridge was firing on all cylinders, as they have done all season long. There was one key change though to The War Eagles lineup and that was at the quarterback position. Senior Reinard Britz had been Oak Ridge’s starting quarterback since the second game of the season, but when Oak Ridge’s offense hit the field for their first possession, Senior Bishop Durst was under center.

Oak Ridge was quick to put points on the board as Durst found his favorite target, wide receiver Tanner Lacy, on the first play of the game for a 75-yard score through the air.

As the half went on Oak Ridge’s defense played their hearts out. Malachi Gramm, Joseph Ossai, and the line-backing crew for The War Eagles were not letting anything get past them.

Later on, in the first half, Durst found Lacy again on another long pass. An element for the War Eagles that also got going in the half was the running game. The War Eagles used six different backs, and five of them ran for double-digit amounts of yards. The score at the end of the first half showed Oak Ridge on top 21-0.

Tanner Lacy was also our Player of the Game, as Lacy caught a touchdown and had some very big plays in the passing game for Oak Ridge.

The second half would continue to be all War Eagles. College Park continued to be stymied on offense, but the Cavaliers defense is what kept this game from completely getting out of hand. A lot of the first string players on the Oak Ridge offense rested most of the fourth quarter.

The Cavalier defense allowed a couple touchdowns in the second half though, as fullback Brennan Young ran one in and Grimes added a touchdown to his stat line.

The Cavaliers tried to knit together one last offensive possession but were unable to punch anything across the goal line. The Cavaliers’ drive stalled and College Park fell.

Your final score was 35-7 Oak Ridge. The War Eagles moved their record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in District 12-6A play. College Park falls to 1-5 and 0-3 in district.
