MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Two Woodforest marketing projects — and the person behind them — took home awards in the recent Houston’s Best PRISM Awards hosted by the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Shannon League, Marketing Director of Woodforest and sister Johnson Development communities Grand Central Park and Harmony, was named Marketing Professional of the Year – Developer in the annual awards program, which recognizes the area’s best people, products and programs in residential real estate.

League came to Johnson Development in 2014 following positions with Darling Homes and Perry Homes in Houston. She is responsible for all marketing initiatives, including prospect- and Realtor-focused programs, for Johnson’s three Montgomery County communities. League has an MBA from the University of Houston and mentors young marketing professionals through the American Marketing Association.

“Shannon has a can-do attitude that is infectious and motivates her staff, builder sales representatives, welcome center team and really anyone who comes in contact with her,” said Virgil Yoakum, General Manager of Woodforest. “Detailed planning and deep research goes into everything she does, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award than Shannon.”

Also winning a Houston’s Best PRISM Award was the 2016 Woodforest Craft Fest, which was named Event of the Year – Developer. The annual brew fest also was named a finalist for Radio Commercial of the Year – Developer and Billboard of the Year – Developer.

Woodforest’s Hometown Herald publication was named Direct Mail Piece of the Year – Developer. Printed to resemble a local newspaper, the mailer includes news on schools serving Woodforest, a real estate section, resident testimonials fashioned as letters to the editor, a sports section covering Woodforest Golf Club and residents’ sports teams and more. Woodforest also was named a finalist in Print Ad of the Year – Developer for its “Where Life Grows” campaign.

“It was a good night for Woodforest, and hats off to our marketing team who represents our community so well,” Yoakum said.

Twenty builders offer homes in Woodforest priced from the $200,000s to the millions. For more information on Woodforest, visit www.woodforesttx.com.
