THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- As football season nears the end of the road, award season is upon us. Over the season we have collected our players of the year at their respective positions. Congratulations to the following student athletes on their phenomenal seasons.
Outstanding player of the year: Kesean Carter, The Woodlands
Offensive player of the year: Bryeton Gilford, The Woodlands
Defensive player of the year: Austin Fox, College Park
Quarterback of the year: Quinton Johnson, The Woodlands
Wide Receiver of the year: Tanner Lacy, Oak Ridge
Running Back of the year: Donaven Lloyd, Conroe
Offensive Lineman of the year: Tyler Johnson, Oak Ridge
Defensive Lineman of the Year: Joseph Ossai, Oak Ridge
Linebacker of the year: Jackson Shearer/Carson Reich, The Woodlands
Defensive Backs of the year: Shane Sirdashney, The Woodlands/Cooper Lucas, College Park
Kicker of the year: Carson Mohr, College Park
After Hurricane Harvey, the football season needed to go on and give a sense of normalcy to the community. New coaches, players, and new opportunities for all teams. In the end, the Highlanders ended their season 7-2 with an undefeated district record and a District 12-6A championship.
