THE WOODLANDS, Texas—On Wednesday morning, two Highlander football players, Ethan Bonner and Kesean Carter signed their National Letters of Intent to officially make their college decision on where they will attend in the fall.

Our Woodlands Online Player of the Year for 2017, Carter committed to Texas Tech on July 18th where he will be given the opportunity to play football and run track for the Red Raiders. The Woodlands’ receiver promptly thanked his parents during the ceremony, “Some days I didn’t want to go to school so thank you for waking me up.” As the room chuckled, there was likely no problem waking up Carter for school this morning as he is now officially a Red Raider.

Carter will follow in the steps of former Highlander and two-time Super Bowl Champion Danny Amendola as hopefully one of Tech’s next great wide receivers.

Highlander defensive back Ethan Bonner made his decision final on Wednesday as well, signing to play football at Stanford University. Bonner, who missed all of the 2017 season due to an ACL injury suffered in summer 7 on 7, previously committed to Northwestern but after a four-month stretch re-opened his recruitment and committed to the Cardinal on August 9th. Bonner and the Cardinal coaches will discuss where on the defensive side of the ball he will line up during his college years.

Ethan and Kesean also won the UIL State Track & Field title for the 4x200 meter relay together in 2016.

Congratulations to both student-athletes for achieving their childhood goals of playing college football at the highest level. Both will have the opportunity to play during their four years and gives our community two more stars to follow throughout their young careers
