THE WOODLANDS, Texas—Just one day after fellow Highlander tackle Peyton Fifield decommited from Texas State, Jake Syptak withdrew his interest in Southern Methodist on Monday via Twitter.

Syptak joins Magnolia receiver Michael Woods who flipped his commitment from SMU to Arkansas after former Mustangs head coach Chad Morris took over the Razorback program after the 2017 season.

Too soon to tell if Syptak will follow Woods and Morris to Arkansas as he currently holds offers from Army, UTSA, Tulsa, and a host of Ivy League programs. But wherever he goes, expect a smart—talented player from The Woodlands High School who was a vital part of the Highlander’s championship run back in 2016.
