VARSITY TRACK & FIELD

3/22-24 at Victor Lopez Rice Invitational, Rice University

Highlights:

We took a group to compete with some of the best Greater Houston has to offer at the Victor Lopez Classic hosted by Rice University.

They competed well and held their own against outstanding competition. The meet was highlighted by Uche Oguchi and Obie Amudo each reaching the finals in the 800m and Triple Jump respectively. Uche finished 5th in the 800 and Obie 7th in the triple jump. Others at Rice set season best marks.

Next week is a short week with plenty of opportunities for competition. Cooper will host a JV meet on Wednesday followed by a varsity meet st Awty. Then over the weekend, 12 Cooper Dragons will participate at Texas Relays. This is the largest number of athletes we have ever had qualify for one of the best high school meet in the nation.

The SPC Championship Meet is closing in quickly and we are looking forward to taking a large and competitive group to Dallas. –Coach Scott Holland
