THE WOODLANDS, Texas—The Woodlands Highlanders will travel a few miles north to take on district rival College Park for their second of three meetings this season. The Highlanders look to move above .500 and keep themselves in the playoff hunt.

College Park, coming off a huge 11-8 victory over first place Oak Ridge will need to continue their recent success to make a post-season push going into late April. Sam Houston signee Luke Trahan has been the consistent piece for the Cavs on the mound and at the plate this season, including a grand slam in their win over the War Eagles. Seniors Travis Washburn and Josh Trahan have kept the bats alive late in the season while Luke Repka and Issac Rivera have helped lockdown on the defensive end.

While College Park seems to be getting hot at the right time, The Highlanders have lost four out of their last six games. While The Highlanders have struggled as of late, the talented batters for The Woodlands look to be gaining back their stride. Sophomore Drew Romo has been a solid foundation for The Highlanders at catcher and at the plate, batting at .417 over the course of the season.

Tuesday’s matchup will be the first of two between the rivals this week as the second and final game will be played at Scotland Yard on Friday. Watch our live broadcast of The Woodlands vs. College Park Tuesday Apr. 17 at 6pm at the College Park Cavalier baseball diamond sponsored by Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center with replays presented by Hal Watson Air Conditioning.
