Interfaith of The Woodlands names new vice president

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Interfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce Lucy Gomez as the new Vice President of Programs. Lucy brings more than twelve years of experience to the executive-level position. She will work along side the President and CEO and CFO roles to further enhance Interfaith’s Community involvement, Programs and Services, Disaster Efforts, Volunteers, support Strategic Planning Efforts, and Congregation Relations.

“Lucy’s extensive social service experience and proven leadership record is a great addition to the Senior Leadership Team here at Interfaith of The Woodlands. Her love for the community, strategic vision and organizational skills will further strengthen Interfaith’s work in South Montgomery County”, shared Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Interfaith of The Woodlands began in 1973, and will be celebrating its 45th year in October. Since inception, all programs were created out of community need and these needs continue to grow. Since 2016, Interfaith has seen a 35% increase in services, while our program offerings continue to expand to meet these needs.

“It is an honor to continue to serve the community in this new role. In the last two years we’ve seen a tremendous growth in both need and opportunities to serve our neighbors,” said Lucy Gomez. “As community needs rise, Interfaith will continue to be the go - to organization. My goals align with current leadership’s vision to meet those needs and lead our community in serving all.”

Lucy has worked at Interfaith since 2005 in Family Services and most recently held the position of Director of Programs and Services. Lucy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master’s degree in International Relations from The University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. Lucy is also a 2015 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.
