THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Due to the monstrous popularity of the annual Halloween celebration at The Woodlands Children’s Museum, the museum will continue this year’s SpookTacular activities until 6 p.m.: one hour past the museum’s normal closing time.

The extended time also will make SpookTacular more accessible to families with school-age children.

SpookTacular, designed for children ages 7 and younger, features games, entertainment and special prizes with all of the fun of Halloween and none of the scares.

This year’s celebration is set for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280. The museum will be open for this event only, and children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

“SpookTacular has always been about family engagement and making special memories,” said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum. “We want to make this special day as convenient as possible for all of the families we serve.”

The museum has lined up some frightfully fun games for SpookTacular, including Pom Pom Races, Monster Golf and Pin the Nose on the Cat, among others.

In place of trick-or-treat candy at game stations, children will receive trick-or-treat prizes.

SpookTacular guests also will be able to create boo-tiful works of art in the MUSE, the museum’s art bar area.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is recommended for ages 7 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

SpookTacular tickets are on sale now. They are $4 for museum members and $10 for non-members. Admission is free for children younger than 1, but they must have a ticket.
